Not so much an idea, but a vote for raising the rest of the fund from non-profits or from benefactors. I was in biotech for 25 years prior to coming to MIT, much of it backed by venture funds or hedge funds. I think it would be much easier, in terms of COIs, optics and aligning with the MIT mission, if this accelerator fund came from people or institutions with goals allied with MIT's goals and mission. The fund could then possibly be evergreen (like Research Corp Technologies), with excess gains distributed to the non-profits,
